Carol Wilson Update

Stage 4 Cancer brought many challenges--and also a host of loving and praying friends. Almost-daily postings to this site are to help my friends walk with me through this journey, and to express my gratitude to them and especially to God...On 7/8/08 Carol passed through that final curtain of death and is now healed. We thank God for her life and "arrival"! Chuck

Blessed

I am thankful to our Great God and to each of you for praying!  At long last, I have made a dramatic improvement with this chest congestion and am actually breathing without the aid of any drugs.  What a blessing!

One of the blessings from spending sleepless nighttime hours fighting for breath was an opportunity to do much extra reading which was a great encouragement.  One night I was reminded of God’s control of the situation when I read; “You are indestructible until God’s purpose for you life is completed.”  The question that immediately came to mind was whether His purpose was complete.  Shortly afterward I read a verse that was one of many that Carol had focused on during her battle with cancer; “Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens.  Remember the great reward it brings you.  Patient endurance is what you need now, so you will continue to do God’s will.  Then you will receive all that he has promised.”  (Hebrews 10:35-36)

I had planned on driving to Indiana tomorrow, spend the weekend there with family and then go on to Chicago to meet with some friends at Moody and also attend some of the Founder’s Week programs.  I also was planning on a visit with Jeremy, Julianna and Judah, but decided to cancel the trip this week.  It did not seem wise to travel that far considering weather factors and the possibility of exposure to a new variety of germs while still in a slightly weakened condition.  Phone calls to Moody friends and to Jeremy yesterday will have to suffice until better weather is assured.

One day this week I heard Chuck Swindoll make the statement; “It’s not your age but your attitude…”  I believe that is a good reminder for many areas of our lives and something I need to keep at the forefront of my thoughts!

Please join me in thanking our Wonderful Lord for his love, mercy and grace extended to his people, moment by moment and day by day!

Have a blessed day!

 Chuck
