Carol Wilson Update

Stage 4 Cancer brought many challenges--and also a host of loving and praying friends. Almost-daily postings to this site are to help my friends walk with me through this journey, and to express my gratitude to them and especially to God...On 7/8/08 Carol passed through that final curtain of death and is now healed. We thank God for her life and "arrival"! Chuck

Graduated

It was a tremendous joy to attend Justin’s graduation from the Air Force Officer Training School in Montgomery Alabama.  Daughter Sue, his wife Laura and 16 month Ella traveled with me from the Columbia airport.  It was a special reunion for each of us, especially for Laura and Ella that had been separated from him for the five weeks of training!

There were just under 300 officers graduating that day, so it was an impressive program and parade.  Justin was selected to be in the color guard which was quite an honor.  The event was held outside at the parade grounds so it was a bit warm but fortunately the reviewing stands had covers protecting us from the direct sun.  Listening to the officers take the Oath of Office with such determination was most refreshing and as they passed in review, I am sure that all of us felt a sense of pride in these new officers.

On our return to Justin’s assigned base in Sumter, SC we spent some time in Atlanta and Columbia, spending a night at each location before checking him and the family in at Shaw Air Force Base late Sunday.  We too the opportunity to visit a dynamic church outside of Columbia and were challenged by a message  “Greater Things” from John 1 and Genesis 28.

Thanks so much for praying.  It was a special trip and a blessing!

Love, Chuck
