January Update
I was reminded that it has been some time since I did a blog update. The combination of travels and medical challenges slowed me down a bit these past few weeks but I am thankful to be doing better and catching up a bit now.
I enjoyed Christmas with part of my family in
Tennessee, hosted by Justin, Laura and their delightful two daughters. As we approached their church on Christmas Eve in unseasonably warm weather,
it
was exciting to walk through the artificial snow that was falling on the
entry walk. Calli joined Ella and Sophia
to pause for a quick photo in the “storm.”
The family oriented program was designed for all ages and began with a
delightful rendition of the Christmas story narrated by small children with
adults acting it out to the delight of all ages. It was a thrill for me to listen to the two little
gals talk about Jesus with a youthful grasp of who Jesus is today. No longer a babe in a manger, but Savior,
Lord…GOD! The one who “is all, and is in all” as the Scripture reminds us.
It has been another exciting
year for me living in the SIM Village among people who have devoted their lives
to serve Jesus throughout the world.
While having initial concerns about being around only “old” people, I
have been blessed by the youthful hearts of these seniors and delighted to have
the opportunity to spend time with several young friends that just “happen” to
come across my path. Each one provides a
new dimension to my life, helping me to better see myself as God sees me and
hopefully adjusting my thoughts and actions to be more closely in line with HIS
plan!
I trust that each of you enjoyed
a wonderful Christmas. I wish you a blessed and HAPPY NEW YEAR filed with HIS Joy
and peace!
Love to all,
Chuck
